Lake Charles Civic Ballet Principals

Gabbe DeMourelle, Principal

Gabriella Marie DeMourelle

Gabriella is the 17-year-old daughter of Steven and Karen DeMourelle. She is a junior at Alfred M. Barbe High School. Gabriella is in her 15th year of dance study, 12 with Lady Leah Lafargue School of the Dance. She has attended many LCCB Summer Intensive Workshops. This is Gabriella’s first year as a principal dancer, and she has performed in roles such as Queen Mother in Cinderella, Arabian Attendant in Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Mad Hatter in Alice in Wonderland, Grandpa in Daguerreotype, and Mr. Smee in Peter Pan. At Barbe, she is an active member of FBLA and Student Council. In her free time, Gabriella enjoys cooking and reading.

 

 

 

 

Carmen LeJeune, Principal

Carmen Sabine LeJeune

Carmen is the 17-year-old daughter of Keagan and Melanie LeJeune and is a senior at Saint  Louis Catholic High School. This is Carmen’s second year as a principal dancer and her 11th year of dance training, 9 of them being with Lady Leah Lafargue School of the Dance.  She has also participated in many LCCB Summer Intensives.  Her roles of note with LCCB include Flirt in Daguerreotype, The Duck in Alice in Wonderland, and a Scottish  Dancer in Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.  Carmen serves as Executive Vice President in Student Council.  She is also a member of Show Choir, National Honor Society, Ambassadors, and Helping Hands.  In her free time, Carmen enjoys singing, making music, playing the piano and guitar, and spending time with her friends and family.

Natalie Maggio, Principal

Natalie Brielle Maggio

Natalie is the 16-year-old daughter of Shawn and Rachelle Maggio. She is a junior at Alfred M. Barbe High School. This is Natalie’s first year as a principal dancer and her 14th year of dance training, 9 of them being with Lady Leah Lafargue School of the Dance. She has participated in many LCCB Summer Intensives. Her roles with LCCB include a Scottish Dancer in Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, the DoDo Bird in Alice in Wonderland, and the oldest boy in Daguerreotype. At Barbe, Natalie is a junior class student council senator. In her free time, Natalie enjoys listening to music, drawing, and spending time with friends and family.

Meredith Owen, Principal

Meredith Elaine Owen

Meredith is the 17-year-old daughter of John C. and Kathy Owen and is a senior at St. Louis Catholic High School. This is Meredith’s second year as a principal dancer. She has studied ballet for 11 years, 9 of them being with Lady Leah Lafarge School of the Dance. Meredith has participated in many LCCB Summer Intensives. Her roles of note while dancing with LCCB include Arabian attendant in Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, The Lory in Alice in Wonderland, and one of the mermaids in Peter Pan. Meredith is an active member of the Diocese of Lake Charles Core Team, has teamed two Teen ACTS Retreats, and will serve as Director of the Cathedral Teen ACTS retreat.  At St. Louis Meredith serves as Class President and Parliamentarian of National Honor Society. She also participates in Students for Life, JCL, Helping  Hands, Ambassadors, Student Council, the Trumpet Newspaper, Liturgical Choir, and Show Choir. Meredith received the St. Louis Award from her class during her sophomore year. In her free time, Meredith enjoys drawing and painting, playing with her dogs, singing, and being with friends and family.

Sarah Richard, Principal

Sarah Catherine Richard

Sarah is the 16-year-old daughter of Mickey and Maria Richard. She is a junior at St. Louis Catholic High School. Sarah is in her 11th year of dance study, all with Lady Leah Lafargue School of the Dance. She has attended many of LCCB Summer Intensive Workshops. This is Sarah’s first year as a principal dancer, and she has performed in roles such as The Notorious Pirate Jean Lafitte in Christmas in Louisiana: Once Upon a Time, the Dormouse in Alice in Wonderland, the oldest of the Lost Boys (Tootles) in Peter Pan, a twin in Daguerreotype and a Scottish dancer in Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. At St. Louis, she is an active member of Students for Life and National Honor Society. She is also a Teen Board member for the Diocese of Lake Charles Catholic Youth Camp and Retreat Center, Camp Karol. In her free time, Sarah enjoys watching movies, seeing shows at the Lutcher Theatre, listening to Broadway soundtracks, sewing, and spending time with her family and friends.
